Lace Monitor, Varanus varius 

The Lace Monitor is quite large goanna with much variation in colour and pattern, and often striking in appearance (right). They are found all the way up and down the east coast of Australia, and in the Daintree region they are often seen scavenging for food or lazing about at Cape Tribulation picnic area and Noah Beach campground.
